"THE DOGGIE MASSEUSE" ~~ Acupressure & Animal Massage Therapy

How often is a massage needed?

A general massage is needed to maintain many of the benefits that are derived from each massage session approximately every four to eight weeks.

Should the question really be…..How often is a massage wanted?

If that were the question then it might be every two or three days or maybe only once a week. Who wouldn’t love a massage as often as possible? I know I would. And if I would, why wouldn’t my precious pet want one often too? Well they would, of course, right?

It is up to your discretion if you feel your animal companion would benefit from a massage once a month or every two or three months.

I would, at the very least, recommend that you schedule an appointment for your pet to have a massage four times a year.

If your pet has been injured or needs rehabilitation then the amount of massage therapy will be determined by your veterinarian.

If your pet has any issues such as problems with digestion, stiffness, arthritis, tense muscles (agility dogs), and so forth, then the massage therapy sessions should be more frequent.

Each animal is unique and will require different treatment plans.

You may discuss this with me during an appointment and we can talk about various options for your pet.

Remember, in this case, there’s never too much of a good thing. Pamper your pet; indulge your pet; now that’s a GOOD thing!!
